Design Inspiration- The Tuckey's

Louella Tuckey has, in many ways, come full circle with her career. Time and time again. She studied furniture design, but then went to work in a shop - albeit one of the world's best design stores, The Conran Shop in Chelsea, London. She then travelled with the company to Australia, to set up a store in Melbourne, and parlayed off into interior design and styling. But then was drawn back to the world of furniture design when she met - and married Mark Tuckey. Now, she's just opened a homewares shop under that brand in Avalon, Sydney, and is styling, visual merchandising, making furniture all over again. Louella makes it seem all so effortless, but in such a short period of time, she and Mark have become one of the most feted and respected couples in the Australian design industry - all in a completely organic kind of way.

These are photographs of the Tuckey's beautiful home set right on Clairville beach on the Northern Beaches. It's unique, fresh and organic and is the opitimy of the Tuckey Brand.

Love how they have combined the neutrals and wood with a bright splash of colour. Really adds another element.

Belowe are images of the Mark Tuckey furniture store on Barrenjoey Rd in Newport. They go out of their way to set up and style the store as if its a fully functional house. Jam packed with chunky timber goodness from beds to dining tables..I am in love!

Mark and Louella have also recently opened a Mark Tuckey Home store in Avalon. This store focuses more on styling and special decorative pieces. Stocked with SO many local design favourites – Spacecraft textiles, Queen B Candles,Mud Australia ceramics, David Bromley artwork and homewares (and surfboards!)… and of course Mark Tuckey’s signature chunky timber pieces.

Design Inspiration- Alice Flynn

Alice Flynn is an inspirational Interior designer, decorator and stylist. After gaining her degree in Interior Design at UTS, Alice went on to become top stylist for popular homewares mag Real Living. Her bohemian-chic style is the perfect blend of old and new, feminine and masculine; salvaged and store bought. She consistantly manages to make everything look mouth watering. Alice's Northern Beaches home oozes 'Avalon'. It embraces the lifestyle through huge windows capturing the picturesque green surroundings, white spaces flooded with light, beachy limewashed timber floors, large sandstone fireplace, an ecclectic mix of ultra-modern vs organic furniture and a quirky collection of artwork. Simply paradise.

Loving the 'Clear Thinking' Arcrylic coffee table in the living room, makes the room feel so spacious. Also obsessed with the textured sandstone fireplace..so warm and rustic.

Love all the personal touches; senitmental nik-naks, candels, flowers and photographs.. feels like home.
